The Therapy Tailblazers are a group of passionate dog owners who volunteer with their Therapy dog companions in the community. They are located in Southeast New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
The Tailblazers visit nursing homes, schools, universities, libraries, and other special events that they are invited to.
If you would like to make arrangements to have the therapy dogs visit your organization you can send a request to therapytailblazers@gmail.com. There is no cost for this service. The demand is high for therapy dogs, so it is recommended that you submit your request at least two months before the date that you would like a visit. The therapy dogs do not make visits to individual homes.
If you want a rewarding experience and feel that your dog has the making of a therapy dog (must be a minimum of 1 year of age) and would like to become a member of the Therapy Tailblazers you can send a message to therapytailblazers@gmail.com and information will be forwarded to you. Therapy dog evaluations are held twice/a year, one in the fall and the other in the spring. The Tailblazers have a saying “We don’t know who enjoys the visits the most, the people we visit, the dogs, or us, the handler.” Check out our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/therapytailblazers/.
